I previously had a MacBook Pro 2016 15-inch with the following specs:
2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
256GB PCIe-based onboard SSD
16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 onboard memory
Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB of GDDR5 memory and automatic graphics switching
I got it replaced by Apple to my current mac due to repeatedly faulty keyboard.
On that Mac the game worked very smoothly and perfectly fine, even on High Sierra (as far as I can remember).That mac had a Skylake processor, and my current has a Kaby Lake. Cheers (:
