I recently bought a new computer and have been moving my offline SimCity files from the old computer to the new one. All of my old files work fine on the new computer, except for my most recent region save. When I try to load any of the cities in that region, the game shuts down and returns me to the desktop, no error message or warning. If I go back to my old computer, the save loads fine and I can play, so the original version is not corrupted. But something seems to be happening to the save when I transfer to the new computer and I can't figure out what.
I have tried transferring the save multiple times through multiple different means (external hard drive, USB, email), uninstalling and re-installing SimCity and Origin on the new computer, trying to save the original file under a different name and transfer that over, toggling "enable origin in-game" on and off, changing in game specifications. Nothing has worked.
I talked to EA help and they said I should try saving the offline game on the cloud so I could access it through the server, but I have no idea how to do that or if it's even possible. Has anyone experienced this and know how to solve this? Since the original save is still ok I just need some method of transferring it over so it doesn't get corrupted and will work on the new machine.
