Game developers do not waste time trying to enforce their own standards on the zoo that the laptop makers have created by following no standards. The requirements are based on DESKTOP hardware:
Recommended
Intel i5 series, or AMD equivalent
Windows 7
Video Card:
Geforce GTX 275 or Radeon HD 5850 with 1 GB VRAM
4 GBs RAM
Direct3D Dx9
Needed space on HDD 10 GB
Optical Drive:
DVD-ROM drive required.
You must compare what a desktop card such as those can do to various laptops, hoping the results are useful. On average, a laptop GTX 275M was 20% slower than the desktop version, forcing you to use a GTX 290M, or GTX 480M. Similar reductions applied to HD 5850M cards, and I don't think there was any laptop HD 59nn M, so at least an HD 6970M.
